mouse/line in issue

hey guys and girls.

so what's the news with vista and the line in/mic issues that are on the go?

just bought a laptop pc running vista with a realtek soundcard. when i try
and use a usb tv card, i get picture etc but no sound.

looking in the audio properties, everything is marked enabled, working and
unmuted. there IS audio getting into the laptop (the audio level meter is
showing it) but nothing is coming out of the speakers.

i've tried all the so-called solutions as described on most forums
(enable/disable...regedit - enableinputmonitor) but all to no avail.

so what's the latest, people?

Any audio inputs for use with the TV card, such as S-video from a STB, need
to be connected to the audio input connection on the TV card and not to the
inputs on your realtek card otherwise they will not get encoded by the tuner
card with the TV video signal.
