I do not know what updates you are referring to that came in but
have you tried removing the updates to see if the problem is rectified or
perhaps a system restore to before the problem occurred?
Then reinstall the updates one by one until the problem returns. Then you'll
know which update may have caused the problem and seek further assistance
then.
The other alternative, is perhaps the mouse is ready to keel over.
