Mouse Not working

I am really dumb fuddled
I have had one problem after another
I have a wired mouse connected on my PS/2
socket. I'm using my keyboard too get around
and some damn Mcafee dialog bog is interfering with
my screen. I don't know how to close it.
Anyway, My MOUSE IS LOCKED AND WANT MOVE.
My Mouse IS NOT OPTICAL. I've cleaned it several
times inside out. I checked out the System Properties
and the mouse isn't even on the list.
It was before.
Also I had a hard time getting my keyboard too work
I have Vista Ultimate.
I've had it for about 6 months.
I've had some weird mouse effects like
arrow running all over the place and lock ups
but never everlasting.
I've done system restore twice.
I've shutdown several times
Ive unplugged the PC several times.
I've ran a Virus scan.
I've updated windows.
I've unplugged and re plugged both the mouse and keyboard

Steve, make sure you have USB Mouse support turned OFF in your BIOS. Also,
if your keyboard is PS2, make sure that USB keyboard support is turned OFF
in BIOS as well.

Aside from that, run a good Trojan removal program and dump Mcafee and
install Avast Free Edition or AVG Free Edition.

Hi Steve,

If your mouse is no longer showing in Device Manager/System properties, then
there is a more than good chance that it has died. Time for a new one
