Mouse Pointer and Screen Jumps about

Can anyone help - over the last few days at anytime that I use my computer my
mouse pointer moves without me touching it and various screens start to
appear - pressing esc stops it temporarily but it starts up again soon after.
I have have used spyware, malware and trojan software to clean system in case
of infection - defragged system and cleaned out sofware I no longer use but
the problem still persists. I remember it happened awhile ago and that was
down to a Microsoft Update that went wrong and was patched later. Could this
be the same thing?

Have you tried a different keyboard and/or mouse?
