My screensaver no longer works when I have my Kensignton USB mouse plugged
into my laptop. It works fine once I unplug the mouse.

What should I do to correct this?

Have you tried updating the kensington software/drivers for the mouse if
it requires any? How about trying a different usb port? Trying a
different usb mouse? Does the problem go away when you try any of this?
Post back with the results.

I have tried different USB ports without luck. Forgot to mention, this is a
wireless mouse with a usb stick for the mouse to connect to..
I have also tried to update the driver today and it said it was uptodate and
the latest available. I then deleted it and reinstalled it. No change. The
screen saver still doesn't work and the sidebar still runs to the bottom on
screens with lots of data.
