Move files bug

Hello, I would like to ask if anyone has the same problem as me with moving
large number of directories and files... This has nothing to do with the
problem (and fix) for the slow over network moving files bug!

What I am experiencing is that when you try to move a bunch of folders to a
destination already containing the same folders (resulting in actually a
merge operation), the empty folders remain at the source, and sometimes - if
there are a lot of files involved - the move stops unexpectedly at the middle
of the operation! That's it! No warning, no error, only the folders and files
are left behind! This happens when moving between different drives, but also
in the same drive!

I can confirm that this is happening in my laptop and desktop and in another
PC of a friend of mine, with Vista Ultimate and Home Premium (pretty much
everywhere - with Vista - I have tried to move a lot of files).

I have searched a lot for a solution, or a recommendation, but I have found
nothing so far! Everyone seems to talk about the slow copying bug, but not
this... (note that I have installed all of the KB updates fixing the slow
copying bug with no result)

Thanks for any answer!
Andrew (Greece)

There is no troll worse than you. GO AWAY VISTA TROLL!

Saying vista is good is a sin. Misleading people is a sin. Repent before its
too late.
The short lived life of vista is nearly over.

No spam, a suggestion and one, I might add, that will work. File
transfer within a hd, from one internal hd to another or to or from an
external drive is MUCH faster in Ubuntu. So is the Internet for that matter.

You're the bigot, Frank. I don't hate Vista users. You do hate Linux users.

Now, that we have that cleared up, care to give some advice to the OP or
just lie, insult and bluster again?

Frank is just a computer user with very limited experience to some versions
of windows...

In order to grasp a good understanding of computers in general you MUST be
willing to do some exploring...

I have installed and used a multitude of different kinds of computers, from
Macs, to Amiga's, to Solaris, to BSD to tens of linux distros, and all
versions of windows ....

You need that kind of universal understanding experience and education to
really understand WHY a OS is crap when you see it.

Many just don't like vista without understanding why. That's ok.. but for me
its not enough. I must know the underlying reasons of everything.

And there are some IDIOTS like frank that like vista aka the "pathetic
version of windows"... the world is big, and you will find people liking
the strangest things, even horrible things that your average person would be
disgusted.
