Ok, I am losing patience here. New computer running Vista and Movie maker
version 11. Camera (which is bout 5yr old JVC GR-D50AA) connected using USB
port 2 and showing in device list on computer, so computer knows it is there,
says drivers installed and working properly. Try to import into WMM and get
message saying device not connected. Someone told me to download version 2.6
for Vista, I did and there is no option to import from camera.....not sure
why. I know there are many others having this problem also. Has anyone found
the answer yet? I could use Pixela imagemixer which came with the camera as
it did import video when I tried it, but this program has been slow and it
freezes and locks up on me.....it is just too painful to use. I am no
computer whiz so please help me in plain english if you can.

FWIW...Movie Maker 2.6 should only
be installed if Movie Maker 6 will not run.

The spec list at the bottom of the
following site says:
"i.Link Digital Input/Output (IEEE
1394 compliant) DV in/out".

That would be a FireWire connection...
maybe it would work better than USB..

You will have to contact JVC with this problem. Although, it looks like you
won't have much luck from the experiences of other users of JVC camcorders.
