I got XP Pro SP2 with the movie maker Ver. 2.1 on my laptop. The Movie Maker
used to work until recently. Now it crashes as soon as I am trying to open
it. Downloading the SP2 with Movie Maker won't work either. Any help fixing
this problem? Thanks.

Sorry inmanico,
there seems to be no solution to this problem as yet. You and I are not the
only ones trying to resolve the problem. I wonder why Microsoft people are
not catching on to this problem.

yeah, I've got the exact same problem! if I ignore the error message, it'll
still let me work with my collections and stuff but then I can't put anything
into the timeline.
is there any way we can get this problem worked out faster? or something we
can do in the meantime?

After much trial and error it appears to be a microsoft bug.
Problem occured after downloading Internet Explorer 7.
If I go back to version 6, everything is okay.
Does Microsoft even read this forums?
Is there a later IE available other then 7?

Do you have Intervideo WinDVD Creator?
Uninstalling that corrected the problem for some.
