Movie Maker + Vista issue

I have tried two different programs (Windows Movie Maker and Muvee). The
vid starts to capture, showing the
preview, then everything stops (preview wise and capture wise).

Video drivers? Direct X?

Any thoughts?

My system is a HP laptop with a GeForce 8400M GS

Capture with the camera and firewire cable work on my XP box with Windows
Movie Maker 2.1.
