Moving email to new install?

I had Vista installed on one drive, working for a few weeks, and then it
completely crashed. I decided to use a different drive and do a clean install.

I use Outlook for email. What do I need to move from the old drive to the
new installation???

Here is what I did...

Install Outlook
Run it once and set up an e-mail account (anyone that you use.) You have to
do this to create an Outlook.pst file in the user profile you are using.
Close Outlook
Replace your newly created outlook.pst file with the old one
This will replace all of your user created folders, contacts, etc... you
will however have to set up all of your e-mail accounts again and your inbox
rules. I couldn't find a way to get these to import. The importer in the
file menu doesn't have an option for Outlook.

Cheers,
Benny

Do you actually not have one, or can you not find one with Vista?

Sometimes searching for files with Vista doesn't always show you what is
actually there. If this is a possibility, navigate to the /user/<your
account name>/appdata/microsoft/outlook directory on the old drive and see if
you can actually see the file. Do this as an administrator. If the file is
there, your good to go otherwise, you'll have to start from scratch.
