How, specifically, are you performing the move? By design, if you
simply left-click and then drag a file or folder from one physical or
logical drive to another, Windows default action is to copy the
file/folder. Left-click & drag between two folders on the same
partition will move the file/folder. (Actually, nothing really moves,
directory is simply updated to reflect the change.)
If you truly wish to move a file or folder from one drive (physical or
logical), right-click and drag to the new desired location. When you
release the mouse button, you'll be prompted to select Move or Copy.
