Hi everyone, I'm working toward dual boot w/ Home P.32bit and
x64Ultimate. I want to move the Hewlett P. factory image D: to
an external HDD. I would also like to later be able to use that same
HDD for x64 Ultimate total backup and restore, 1. can it be done?
2. Will Vista partition tool partition an external HDD. Or do I need
partition tool software, if so please suggest what to get.

Is HP factory image D: the same as the 15 cd set of back ups
that I made when I got my machine. 1. If so should I keep both
sets (can't hurt). 2. Is one better than the other to use if need be?

I'm on my way to work now so I won't be able to respond until
later tonight (5 Feb. eastern standard time)

Thank you all in advance for your help. Bare Foot Kid

A preinstalled version of Windows Vista must remain
on the same drive and partition as it came from the factory
You cannot move or install a Windows operating system
to an external hard drive.

or what? What happens if it's moved? Does this mean if my drive fails, I
can't install a new one, or a bigger one?

I just want to be clear about this I am not trying to get around ho
things work. I know that factory images from my machine can only be use
on my machine. I have already created unalocated space on my HDD. I hav
been told that you can only expand a volume to the right, HP factor
image D: is to the right of my unalocated space. I am trying to keep th
partitions to a minium
