Moving to a new print server

My existing Windows Print Server runs on a Windows Server 2003 sp2 x64 box.
I'm planning to create a new print server, again running Windows Server 2003
x64, in order to resolve some issues I'm having with the first box.

I'd therefore like to migrate the existing printers and their driver files
to the new box without having to recreate everything manually. If the first
box is named AD2 and the second PS1, I'd like printers installed on all
workstations to show that they are now located at PS1 rather than Ad2.

Is this kind of migration as simple as creating the new print server,
running the Print Management console on it, adding the old print server to
the list of available print servers, then copying print drivers snad
printers to the new one? Or should I be using one of the Microsoft print
migrator utilities, and if so, which one?

Will my users have to re-install printers on their workstations in order to
have network printers point to the new pint server?

I look forward to your response.

Hello Phillip,

PrintMigrator doesn't work in this case, only supported with 32bit versions.
If you have at least a Vista/2008 machine you can use printbrm, keeps also
track on 64bit, see here for more details:
