moving shortcuts

Just got my new laptop yesterday, has windows vista. I tried moving a
shortcut on the quick launch bar to a new spot on bar, but it put it on
desktop instead. Can't move it back, Its the Shows Desktop shortcut. How
do I move it back? I dont want it on my desktop.

Right click the taskbar and make sure there isn't a check next to "Lock the
Taskbar."

Just drag it there. You say you've tried? How did you try and what was
the result?
