MS' Digital Image Pro and XP

I just installed version 9.0 of Microsoft's DIP and find that when I try to
save a picture within DIPro that causes my system to reboot (and does not
save the pic).

Is there a bug in the Image Pro software? There is no bug fix offered that I
know of.

I was advised to use the Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool which I did. But I'm
using XP with SP-2 and the tool page advises that I will not have a GDI +
issue. However, I did download the detection tool and none of the Severity
Icons lit up. I guess that means I have to look for another problem/cause?

How can I get the MS DIPro software to be friendly with XP?
