MS DOS FULL SCREEN - COMPUTER HANGS

After installing the sp1 updates I cannot run my dos programs.
I can use the small window but when I press ALT+ENTER the application
freezes (e.f. edit.com).
If I press ALT+ENTER again the window becomes small but stays frozen and all
you can do is close it with the "X".
