ms-dos

i have a hp printer that wasnot printing all the pages, it would print the
1st page then skip 2 the print the last page. i removed the port (lpt1) the
reinstalled it and that didnt fix it, so i removed the printer and the port
and tryed to install it then i got a message. 16 bit windows subsystem. The
system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows
application. choose "close to terminate the application. can anyone tell me
why this did this, and what i can do to get my printer installed on my pc
