By helping to put up this website while they use their own products to
infringe on their paying customers' fair use rights!

Priceless quotes in m.p.w.vista.general group:
http://protectfreedom.tripod.com/kick.html

"Fair use is not merely a nice concept--it is a federal law based on
free speech rights under the First Amendment and is a cornerstone of the
creativity and innovation that is a hallmark of this country. Consumer
rights in the digital age are not frivolous."

You just figured that out? MicroSquish has been strong arming customers for
years.

M$ aren't a fan of DRM AFAIK.
They include it because so many vendors of content (like Sony, Apple) demand
it.
However now big names like Sony have been shown to not be trust worthy and
consumers are rebelling against DRM.
If the big players like Sony finally back down DRM will just die the death
it deserves.
After all media player will work without DRM and plays DiVX movies and stuff
without any questions, do you think that it would if M$ didn't want it to?
Its not M$ that puts the protection on the content to control what you can
do.. M$ just bow to pressure to add DRM to their platform.

Didn't Gates said publically that he thinks DRM doesn't work? I don't think
Microsoft is all that keen on the scheme.

Both WPA and WGA in all of its flavors are DRM so you were saying?

There's nothing inherently wrong with hypocrisy.

The sign that says: "This way to Chicago" doesn't actually GO to Chicago
itself, but you'd be a fool to ignore its advice.

90% of obstetricians are male and are "experts" on how a woman should take
care of her health.

Very, very few, if any, professional sports umpires, referees, and judges
ever played professionally, yet they have no problem telling those active in
the sport how to do things.

And lastly:

It's the MESSAGE that's important, not the messenger.

They're related sure .. but I think it was in the context of "content" -
music and movies - not so much applications and operating systems. WPA and
WGA (especially) are catching pirates.

Regardless, it's still DRM and MS obviously approves of it.
