When I download Windows Updates, it is now downloading the Malicious
Tool. How do I now access and run this tool from within my PC?
Thanks.......

The version of this tool delivered by Windows Update runs on your computer
once a month, in the background. If an infection is found, the tool will
display a status report the next time you start your computer. If you would
like to run this tool more than once a month, run the version that is
available from this Web page or use the version on the Malicious Software
Removal Tool Web site.

Check here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...fault.mspx#run

or here:

Whenever you download a new version, it runs. Otherwise...

The utility is...
%windir%\system32\MRT.exe

Command line switches...

/? or /HELP = displays the command line switches
/Q = quiet
/N = detect only
/F = force extended scan
/F:Y = force extended scan and automatically clean infected files

The following is the resultant log file...

%windir%\Debug\mrt.log

Don't you have to download a new version every month?

Yes - no problem there - used to update once a week, at least, but seems to
be just updated on a Black Tuesday now.
I save to desktop then delete the old one and run the new.
