MS Office 2003 SP2

It appears that everyone is having the same problem I'm having with the
install. I've tried at least 5 times, and always get the same error message.

Yes but i just did it on my husbands computer and it did it just fine, its
the same set up as mine so i am baffled

I have managed it now

Got to windows update and review your installation history
Click the red cross where it says failed
Click find solutions
Scroll down and click office update fails to install with errot 0x51F
Follow the instructions on there and download that tool and do what it says
Back to windows update and click install

I think the problem is something to do with MS Publisher 2003 as it asked
for that disc and I haven't got that on the other computer

I've just tried that but its not worked. Its still asking for the cd. It's
given me a different error message this time now though and said that if i
check for updates again i will get a different file that should work... just
got to download another 90mb now

After attempting all the other solutions, this was the only thing that
finally worked for me. THANK YOU!
