MS Office 2003 SP2 Update

Any ideas why MS Office 2003 P2 fails to install with Error Code Ox530

I have this error too
Installation Failure

Error Code: 0x51F
Try to install the update again, or request help from one of the following
resources.

At least you got an error code..mine stops and tells me to insert my MS
office CD...I don't have one. Gateway doesn't package them with the computers
any more, and it's not in the recovery disk either...

I'm getting the same message/problem as well. I've tried twice now and the
same thing happens...

I have tried at least six times with the same result, and it takes ages to
say that it has failed.

On the page Download details: Office 2003 Service Pack 2
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en), it says:

Request for source

If you have downloaded and run the file
Office2003SP2-kb887616-client-enu.exe and are being asked to insert the
product CD, the Local Installation Source may have been removed or corrupted.
You may need to repair your Local Installation Source. For instructions on
repairing the Local Installation Source, see the article Change the Local
Installation Source After the Installation
(http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...402361033.aspx). You
should also try downloading and running the file
Office2003SP2-kb887616-fullfile-enu.exe. Installation of this file may be
successful even if the Local Installation Source is missing or corrupt.

Same problem 0x51F... I've tried a Selective Startup as well. No luck.

I have tried installing this update 4 times and it has failed all 4 times. I
didn't get a message about inserting the Office 2003 CD, but I figured I'd
insert my CD and try again. No Good.

I also had the 0x51F error message. waiting for reply from microsoft

It appears that everyone is having the same issue. I've tried at least 5
times to no avail.
