Scenario: I have a folder on the desktop that contains numerous Word files.
When I open the folder and try and open any of the Word files I get the
following error messages, in the following order. No other applications are
open at the time.

First message: "MS Office is trying to recover your information. Windows is
checking for a solution to this problem"

Second message: "MS Office is trying to recover you information. This may
take several minutes".

Third and final message: MS Office Word has stopped working. A problem
caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program
and notify you of a solution" - which never does take place...

Has anyone else had experience with this issues, thoughts on what may be
potentially causing the problem, remedies etc. Thanks in advance.

Sure that looks familiar. The all new breed of error messages we never saw
before Vista was launched.

MS Office issues has nothing to do with Vista . Please post the complete error message (s) including any error numbers if any to the MS Office newsgroups for a more comprehensive answer. Many Office experts are there to give you answers.
