Thanks for the update - I'm pleased they corrected the instruction.
Microsoft fullfillment team members sometimes post in this group,
generally appending [MSFT] to their name, but not often.
Your best bet for an official answer may be to email WU support,
or use the forums set up to sop up feedback about WGA.
If your "WinVN" newsreader is like Outlook Express, clicking
this newslink ought to cough up your post which I reference:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/O1U9Xy8m...TNGP05.phx.gbl
If your "WinVN" newsreader, unlike Outlook Express, does not
implement newslinks, see your earlier post at the bottom of this thread:
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...bb5531dc3f4a7b
You say, "Well, you know, that's probably BS too, but..."
A problem with the forums is that you must use Passport to post:
http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/default.aspx
A problem with WU support is that it's a convoluted procedure,
which often enough does not resolve issues. Especially for beta:
http://support.microsoft.com/common/...h=1&gprid=6527
You may just want WGA Notifications uninstalled, rather than getting an
official answer to your question about the procedure provided and the
version number you have, which is less than the lower limit. Obviously,
you could try the procedure to see if the lower limit was a misstatement.
The uninstaller Freudi has made available is for XP, and while it might
work for Vista, experiment would call for a readiness to reinstall Vista.
Am I correct in assuming that you are running Windows Vista?
