MS Update error 0x8024402C

I have MS Update set to notify but not download.
Knowing that a critical update was due to be released today, I expected
that notification, didn't get it.
Went into MS Update and got the above error number.
Followed steps given at
http://update.microsoft.com/microsof...n=en&IsMu=True
Still getting same error message.
Have "automatically detect settings" ticked in IE7 options.
Proxy settings are disabled.
Use Comodo as firewall.
Have been getting Windows Defender updates without any problems.
Any suggestions/advice please?

Thanks for your reply.
Turned out to be my fault. I had somehow blocked svchost.exe in Comodo
firewall.
MS Update scans OK now.
However, it finds no critical updates. Thought "Advance
Notifications...." said there would be a release today. Maybe not for XP
SP2.
