MS Update fail after Repair install of XP SP2

Hi all,

After I had run Repair install on my DELL Laptop M70, from the original CD
(XP with SP2, IE6.0), the loooong list of files from Microsoft Updates won't
install.

Yesterday I wrestled with the Genuine Checker, and followed all the advice I
could find in this thread

I never got the automatic stuff to install though, so I manually klicked all
the update.exes in C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\{...}\upd ate
folders

After restarting my Laptop, and shutting down AntiVir, Microsoft Update
suggests the following list to be installed. But when trying to Install the
list I get an identical list of messages telling me that installation fails
for every each one of them (no whining about Genuine Checking though):

Hi TaurArian,

Yess, that did the trick. The install process is ongoing and 40 out of 54
updates succeeded so far.
