MS update - NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420

When I install this update my display settings become 640 x 480 in 16 colours
and I can not change them. I have to restore to get the display back.

Any suggstions?

Do not install driver updates from Windows Update.
Instead if a driver is needed, get it directly from the hardware
manufacturer.

Word of warning tho.

ive got a GeForce4 Ti4200 and when i installed the new drivers from nvidea a
few of my games wouldnt work (css, nfsu2, ...) ive ended up installing an
older version i had lying around on my pc.

the games where moaning about directx compatable hardware
