I guess MS pulled their updates. The update website is down. I consistently
get:
"The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. "

For some reason Microsoft "Update services" has been blocked out.
When I tried to update my PC I received the following error Code: 80244019

Also, I you try by yourself the following link: http://update.microsoft.com/
your browser will be re-directed to "GOOGLE" main page. It looks to me that
someone hack's Microsoft Domain Name Servers and they don't want to notify
this critical issue to the media (News).

This problem is associated to the 32 Bits Platform, due to the fact that a
system with 64 Bits Platform can get to the "Update Site" without any problem.

Nope. I have no problems. Following the link doesn't redirect
anywhere..takes me right to the update site...

It looks to me that you are infected with malware.

Vista Home Premium, pc not been run for a few weeks.
Auto update installed 6 updates, rebooted to complete installastion, total
crash. Eventually got it back working via system restore.

Am now getting a (Secunia) message saying Vista needs a critical update, BUT
whichever route I try to get to MS update, ( i.e. via Secunia direct link or
via IE direct, get Error number: 0x80070002. and Windows Update page won't
display.

Am fully firewalled and up-to-date with AVG. You are not alone! Will keep
monitoring if anyone can suggest a solution, please?

If you're referring to the Windows Update page in the Control Panel
being blank, then see this:

Some Windows Vista functions may not work, or Windows Vista may stop
responding
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

If that does not resolve the updating issue, the please copy&paste at
least the last 50 or more lines of the WindowsUpdate.log into your reply.

That log is located in WINDOWS.
Start > Search > type in windowsupdate.log and then click OK or press Enter.
