MS Updates seems to have broke the Group Policy for Windows Update

I had a group policy that did Windows Updates automatically in my network.
After setting up pc's to do Microsoft Updates the group policy isn't doing
the updates automatically. The control panel/automatic updates is still there
and grayed out so you can't make changes on the pc's. The sever is 2000 with
AD and the pc's are XP.

It's entirely possible that your old policy was designed to be used with the
older AU client, and since the conversion to Microsoft Updates, those clients
have installed the new Windows Update Agent. The policy settings are not 100%
compatible.

The key policies for the WUA are documented in the WSUS Deployment Guide, and
probably also documented in the WUA SDK (though I've not actually looked at
that documentation).

So how do I make them work? Is there a new adm for it?

There is a new wuau.adm. It's available on Win2003SP1 systems, and, IIRC, it
should also be available from XP SP2 systems.

If you can't find it there, you can grab a copy from my website at:
http://wsusinfo.onsitechsolutions.co...loads/wuau.adm
