MS Windows Product Activation

I have genuine MS Windows XP factory installed by Toshiba and a valid 25
character Product Key. I run Norton Internet Security 2005. I also ran MS
Anti-Spware. So far, so good then came the 26July2005 (may the day live in
infamy!).

The anti-spyware has expired. I cannot use Windows Update because it looks
at my laptop it sends:

[0x80080204] Why did it not validate? It appears that our activation servers
are not functioning properly. Please return later ...

There's no way to enter the Product Key I have or to telephone it in. I
beleive that I have down this already anyway. Toshiba are now use and appear
as expert as MS at ensuring that you cannot contact them.

Help! Is this some widespread MS problem with activation? Or is there some
firewall whatever conflict? Is this the right discussion group?

What shall I do?!

FHU

I resolved the issue by removing NIS 2005 from my computer. May be you can
also try that.
