On Saturday, July 31, 2004 I've installed "Cumulative
Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
(KB867801)" successfully.
Since that time I can neither access any website nor
receiving E-Mail, without disabling "Norton Internet
Security Professional 2004". When Norton is disabled,
everything seems to be working fine.

Thanks, my problem is solved.
Everything works fine again.
Deleting and re-installing
"Norton Internet Security Professional 2004"
did the trick.

Next time disable NAV and any other unnecessary applications before
installing updates.
Unnecessary applications especially AV applications is a major cause
of such issues.

I only wish that had worked for me, and I did have NIS off during the
install
