MS05-053 Patch ruins Gdi Renderer on Windows 2003 Server Standard

Hi all,
After recently installing the Graphics Rendering patch MS05-053 on my
Windows Standard Server 2003, and rebooting, all the graphics in the
operating system went haywire. Large buttons, blue/purple/black menus, and 16
colour icons are all I could get from the system. Even after changing themes
and font sizes the issue remained. I had to remove this patch to get my
system back into a usable state, but a lot of my icons are left in 16 colour
and I have to manually refresh them (via Change Icon...).
Has anyone else experienced this?

I must to remove Update KB896424 for the same reasons: the theme was broken
and the screens are hard to read.

I'm also experiencing this. Have no clue. Tried on different systems, same
result.

Wow....Here it is 9.16.2006 and this problem still exists. Way to go
microsoft! Glad to see someone had to suffer through the fruestration of
troubleshooting this problem besides me. Nice to see Microsoft on the ball
fixing this problem for their valued customers. Who would of expected it to
be a microsoft update screw up and not a hardware problem!
