Feel free to read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912812/en-us and
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912945/en-us and as temporary grace
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917425/en-us

I've read these articles and try to disable the Active X no luck. The only
way it works when I remove the Patch.

The KB 917425 compatability patch reverts active x back to pre the KB
912812 Cumalative IE update settings. Are you saying this patch causes
the problem, makes no difference, or have you not installed it?

If you apply KB 912812 then apply KB 917425 it should fix the problem
until MS disable the compatability patch in June. I suggest at that
point you leave IE updates alone and use Firefox instead, its bound to
end in tears judging by MSFTs recent woeful performance.

I am going to pack in using it soon, pity I always liked IE but I need
a working PC not broken apps because MS lost a lawsuit which is what
this is all about ultimately.

You're trying to *disable* ActiveX?

Nope, see KB917425 for temporary fix. You may have to adjust your
software to have something like a permanent fix. See also

I applied the patch like you asked the problem still exist. I'm certain the
batch Q912812 is causing the problem because when I removed it we can open
the database.

thanks

OK Yman I use Access Databases a lot and I have not had this problem
so I don't know whats causing your issues. 912812 has some critical
(allegedly) security fixes in it as well as the Active X fix which may
be causing trouble for you. Obviously its causing the problem and the
comp patch is not helping.

If you have removed 912812 and your system works OK then I would leave
it like that but I would not use Outlook Express or Internet Explorer
because they are not safe.

(lol since when have they been safe).

Until MS fix the issue I suggest you use Firefox and Thunderbird in
lieu of OE & IE.

Sorry I could not help.

Thanks for all the help.

I found a work around, what I did I removed the reference of Micrsoft
ActiveX Plug in from Access Module. It resloved the problem.

Open Access Database; on the Modules tab double click any module. On the tools
menu click References then Uncheck Microsoft ActiveX Plug in, and click ok.

Good Luck
