MS08-067 958644 not installed

hi
i have a wsus 3.0 for 500 computers, every month i approval the security
updates and the clients automatically download de approvated update and this
are installed everything is ok.
but 3 days hago i approved de MS08-067 958644 security update but this
update is not download for clientes, when is see the report for thes updat
say 500 computers need this update in detail of report in approval say
install but in state of computers say not installed.
someone can help me?

I had no issues installing KB958644 on any of my systems, and it's highly
odd that you'd have issues on all =500= client systems. (Unless the WSUS
Server still has not actually downloaded the content successfully.)

Although, "3 days ago", isn't exactly an unlikely scenario....

[1] Approving the update in WSUS now means that WSUS has to download the
content.

[2] Depending on how many languages, and your bandwidth to microsoft.com,
and the time at which you issued the approvals, it might have taken some
time to get the content downloaded to your WSUS Server.

[3] Until the content is downloaded to the WSUS Server, the clients cannot
detect/download the content to the client system. This could take up to 22
hours after the WSUS server completed the download from microsoft.com.

[4] Then, depending on when the client completed the download from the WSUS
Server (which could also be some notable amount of time, depending on the
number of clients (500!), and how often their detection cycles are, and how
many are simultaneously trying to download), the updates may or may not have
completed before the scheduled installation event.

All-in-all... it's not impossible at all for a client in a large/busy
environment to not actually install an update until 4-5 calendar days after
the approval is originally posted on the WSUS Server. While certainly not an
ideal situation, it is *possible*, and should be considered as a likely
situation in this case.

Assuming you're using scheduled installation on these clients, post the log
segments from the %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log that show:

[a] The client executing the detection, detecting KB958644 as needed,
successfully downloading the content for KB958644, and scheduling it for
installation.

[b] The client executing the events during the next scheduled installation
event.
