msconfig doesn't display anymore (XP system).

After going over several virus procedures but without finding anything,
msconfig doesn't display anymore. Running Norton didn't find anything
either. But since then,
either at startup or via the 'run msconfig' command = Nada - nothing.
You'll see the clock for a few seconds, but nothing is displayed. No error
msgs or anything.

Any suggestions? Registration problem and if so - what's the fix?
