Please help!!! I installed a program yesterday that was not backward
compatible with Vistax64 with 4GB of RAM. I went to another forum and
they advised all I needed to do was:
Access MSconfig
go to boot settings
go to advance settings
under max memory (which originally read 4096) change to 3072.
hit apply and restart the system.
I did this and the program worked fine. However, I cannot change my max
memory back to 4096 and my computers shows that I only have 3GB of RAM.
I haved since deleted the program and used system restore to attempt to
get back to my original RAM settings. I have called my computer Tech
support guy who advised that I had to re-enstall windows.
Someone please help me recover my lost RAM!!!
BTW...ArmA is a bloody horrible game

Hi MPglasier82ABN,

Simply reverse the MsConfig procedure. In the 'BOOT Advanced Options'
screen, you will have had to check 'Maximum memory:' in order to access the
drop down box to change the maximum amount of memory accessible to Vista. All
you need to do is to clear this check box and click 'OK' and then close
MsConfig. When you restart Vista, you should have all your installed memory
available.
