I'm getting an error at 98% of the install of WSUS....

This deals with the .NET framework and I've seen some articles on debugging
this issue but I did not write the software so....anyways, has anyone seen
this error and what did you do to repair it.

Thanks,
WS

Windows 2000, Windows 2003, or Windows 2003 SP1?

If either of the first two... did you install the .NET Framework v1.1
Service Pack 1?

If Windows 2000.. have you installed the .NET Framework v1.1?

Also, the 'could not be loaded' error could be coming from a permissions
issue. If you've installed the IISLockdown tool, it messes with the
permissions on the %windir% folder. See the WSUS documentation for
installing on Windows 2000 for details.

Thanks for your input guys. I think I found the answer by reinstalling .net
1 and then reinstalling sp 1.1. The Win Update site installed (with my help
of course) SP 3 and that was the issue. Once I reinstalled 1 it worked.
Thanks for the input.

Just to clarify.... /SP3/ is for .NET Framework v1.0

WSUS requires .NET Framework v1.1, which is not installed on Windows 2000
and must me manually installed along with the .NET Framework v1.1 Service
Pack 1.

..NET Framework v1.1 is installed on Windows Server 2003, but must be
upgraded with the .NET Framework v1.1 Service Pack 1 /OR/ the Windows Server
2003 Service Pack 1 (which also installs the .NET Framework v1.1 Service
Pack 1).
