MSDE on WSUS is special?

Hi,
I have successfully installed WSUS onto a W2K3 box. Everything works just
fine. Straight vanilla install using MSDE. But the SQL Services Manger icon
in the systray shows an *empty* circle (not green arrow, nothing red) and
indicates that the SSM is "Not Connected - \\servername"

I have ignored this so far becasue it hasn't mattered, but I would now like
to add another db to the MSDE for another application and cannot access the
db.

Does the WSUS do something so that the MSDE config is exclusively its own?
I would really like to use this server for this other app as I don't have any
other options...

Additionally, Enterprise Manager (on my MS-SQL box) sees this server as a
SQL server, but is also unable to attach to it for purposes of adding it into
the Enterprise Manager tree.

Thanks for any ideas.

Perhaps try the WSUS Newsgroup
(web client)
