MSdirectx.sys

I updated from windows update and now I have a trojan horse that keep popping
up every couple of minute. I use AVG anti-virus program and when I go to scan
my computer it does not heal/delete or quaratine it. the trojan horse show up
as

Virus Detected
while opening file:C\msdirectx.sys
Trojan horse collected.5.L

What this trojan horse does is that it automatically open my dial up even
when I go and cancel the dial.

Can some one please help me in general terms. I do not understand most of
the computer terminalogy.
