MSFT stubornly and incorrectly alleges that RC1 must have a Beta 2 Refresh that will be on their site in a few hours to run Office 2007 on Vista RC1. This is totally wrong and nothing could be further from the truth.

This site posts that fiction:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvist...y/preview.mspx

"2007 Office System Beta 2 compatibility
If you are using 2007 Office system Beta 2 be sure to download the 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 Technical Refresh, the most recent update. ("The Technical Refresh is required to use Office Beta 2 with Windows Vista RC1.)"

That last statement in quotes is totally false.

The Upgrade Advisor for Vista gives incorrect information more frequently than it is correct as to what hardware runs well on Windows Vista and what device cards.

Some other Microsoft programs are mutually exclusive with Office 2007 Beta 2
on Vista RC1. For example if you have Expression Web Designer Beta 1
installed Office won't install and vice versa. I have heard there are other
programs that act like this as well. Just because you and others haven't
experienced a problem doesn't mean that problems don't exist.
