hi there. well, I recently found this site since I was checking for a
exe program that was gladly not a virus or anything bad.
Well, I was asking that was is MSI4805.tmp? I have recently seen it in
my Norton Rules thing. I have Win Vista home premium Intel Prentium
Dual-core laptop.
I see that it is form [Main Drive]/Windows/Installer/MSI4805.tmp
for the moment I have it blocked since idk what it is and don't want
something that I don't know running. I have been looking for this but no
luck.
Thanks.

Hi,

Quite often temp (.tmp) file names are randomly generated, so the name of
the file is immaterial. If's a matter of whether or not you know what you
were installing or updating.

@*'*lemur*' (http://www.vistax64.com/member.php?u=137137)
*well, actually, I saw it in the Norton's Rules (the one that shows
programs that wants to connect or not.
I have actually found this info in here: 'File Extension .TMP Details'
(http://filext.com/file-extension/TMP) on what the .tmp is and it said
that it may be a "Norton AntiVirus Backed Up File" or something else.
but the weird thing is that it was added to the rules and that seems
weird since it's not suppose to connect to the internet. Also, it is in
the Windows/Installer/ folder that does not sound right.
EDIT: I also found this:
http://forums.windowsforum.org/index...howtopic=26273
I know the name is different but it seems to be the same.
I'm starting to think it may be a dump of when my laptop one time froze
and had to power it off the hard way.
