I've noticed that this support page and a few others like Google Mail are
extremely slow to load. Most pages with this broadband connection are
lightning fast. I've tried disabling McAfee components and that doesn't
solve the problem. Any recommendations?
I used to run MSIE-7 in XP SP2 and it was a super performer.

TIA

Use windows mail or Thunderbird and use a proper newsreader.

If you hit this link it should start up whatever is your default newsreader.

You will always get better results from MS own servers,

news://msnews.microsoft.com may work to get you started.

Using this web interface is the slow way of accessing these Newsgroups.

As for Google Mail; who knows!

Right click the IE icon and start without any addons. If it is much better
then, try disabling all the addons that you do not really need.
