MSN Crashing and Not Responding

I am using the latest version of messenger. I have been experiencing
messenger shutting down and task manager telling me that the program is not
responding. This is occuring while I am in an active conversation with
someone. Does anyone out there know why this is happening and how do I fix
the problem. I have tried unistalling and re-installing msn multiple times
with no luck.
