MSN Messenger 9 crashing - Options Menu

So when I try to go into the options menu (or "Change Display Name") the new
msn crashes on me. Every time. I've tried a bunch of stuff to no avail. Any
ideas?

Same thing here. Tried to reinstall, nothing works. Out of nowhere, crashing.

Nothing at all. It just crashes.

Maybe it's a plug-in that went wrong... But I already uninstalled and
reinstalled MSN. =/

Hi,

Just some other things you can that would be helpful in narrowing where the problem is..
- Is it limited to just this Live ID or does it happen in others (make another for testing at
http://register.passport.net if you need to)
- Do you have Messenger Plus Live installed? If so, you can open up a conversation window
and type /nick Test and press the enter key to change your name to Test. Then see if you can
get the options. I suspect it has nothing to do with the display name at all, so if you
don't have plus installed, that's fine

Finally, which Windows version are you using and which Messenger version?

Well, that's weird. I used another Live ID and it worked! :S

It seens that my Live Id is causing the problem... But... why?...

I think I know what happened...

I bought Street Fighter IV for PC recently and I "had" (the game forced me
to do it) to create a XBox Live account. Since then (and I even don't have a
XBox!) my MSN crashes.

I would like to cancel my account, but I can't find a way to do it!!!

I'm having this problem as well. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling: that
didn't work. I tried using two different live ID's, one @hotmail, one @live,
but that didn't solve anything. I'm running Vista, and I'm using Windows Live
Messenger 2009, which is the most recent one.
