Hey guys this has been happening to me for some time. I can not figure out
why Live messenger (and even MSN messenger back in the day) always hangs on
my desktop PC. I have 2 other machines at home on the same network running
the same OS with a very similar configuration and they do not have any
issues. I have seen on the web that this appears to be a common problem. I
have seen the "Fixes" that involve deleting your contacts from documents and
settings cnad clearing your messenger contacts cache and also removing the
MSN Messenger registry settings. I have tried all of these "Fixes" and
nothing appears to solve the problem. I am currently forced to use a 3rd
party IM client like GAIM (now 'Pidgin') which has always worked fine but
appears to have more overhead and all I really want is my MSN/Hotmail
contacts. I can provide repro steps or even a screen capture recording
session if anyone would like to see the behavior. As for ideas on how to
resolve the problem I am all ears.
