I am sorry that you are hitting this issue. This does not seem like a
Windows Update problem, but I do understand why you would post here.
To answer your question, I think the best advice is uninstall MSN Messenger
from the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, and after that, go right
back to the website
http://messenger.msn.com/download/ and download it
again. Your settings are already saved online with your Passport, so you
are merely replacing the installation with the software needed to stabilize
it.
