Msn messenger not connecting???

I am having trouble connecting to msn messenger but i can get into my hotmail
account and i keep getting this error message that says i am not connected to
the internet the code is 0x81000370 it has been going on for 4 days now and
everything else on the internet is accessible...only msn messenger is not,
can anyone help???

i can sign on from a different computer though??? just not my computer at
home, why is that?

if you can sign on from another computer sounds like your home base has
had a config change.
Whats changed with the computer that you cant log in from?

I am having the exact same problem at the moment and so far have been unable
to resolve it!! have you been given the solution?? If so, do share.

I am sorry that you are hitting this issue. This does not seem like a
Windows Update problem. Perhaps these other newsgroups would be more
helpful:

microsoft.public.windowsxp.messenger

microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support

microsoft.public.msn.messenger

Hey Pat thinks for the tip but the messanger problem is secondary to
being able to download windows updates with 2003. The only reason I
installed msn messanger is I picked up an off the wall thread that the
install sometimes solved this problem
