I try to open messenger but it just runs in background it seems. I downloaded
the latest copy of live today installed it and then installed(repaired) again
but no success.

I can see msnmsgr.exe in windows task messenger in the process list. But if
I click it again then i see TWO msnmsgr.exe processes in the list and then
three if i try to open the third time and so on...

Hello,

have you installed any add-ins for Messenger? Are you using a router, or a
firewall?

Greetings,

Hello,

when you unplug your network cable, is Live Messenger able to open - just to
open its main window or something?
Have you got Windows XP? The other version is Windows Messenger (5 or 4), I
guess?

Hello there.

I get this problem myself. My Windows Live Messenger will not open straight
after I have logged onto the computer. This is because my Anti-virus program
is trying to open. Is this what you are doing?

The same thing will happen when I try to open a program then try to open WLM.

Allow your computer to do one thing at a time. If it is still not opening
and it is still in Windows Task Manager, click on the process (msnmsgr.exe)
and "End Process."

Usually when you try to open it again, it will open.

Good luck.

Interestingly this unplug the network cable trick works, but it is crashing
almost everytime i try to make a voice call or video call. then i have to go
through the unplug network cable again to restart MSN
