I've just started using the MSN Messenger Shared Folder facility which is
absolutelt brilliant, but I ahv one important question.
I share my PC with three others and we each have our own log-in and
password, with me as the owner and "administrator" and I'm concerned about
privacy. Can the other users of the PC see my shard folder?
When I open "My Computer" I can see a folder called "My Sharing Folders"
which has appeared since I startd using the MSN Messenger Shared Folder
facility which is labelled s a "Systems Folder" and I don't want my fellow
PC users to have acces to this.

Greetings,

As long as you're using separate Windows logins, the files will be protected in your user
profile (like My Documents, etc.)

Jonathan,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I rather thought that was the case, and would
be alarmed if it were not.

Hi,

You can put as many or as large files in there as you like; till your hard drive space runs
out anyway

Oh I see. It uses hard-disk space. That's amazing! So it's transferring from
one PC to another...or enabling access from one to the other. I see. Thank
you for that.

I tried to start a new thread on this but was unable to open a window for a
fresh question...system would not let me so I'm adding it here:-

When I'm on MSN Messenger to one of my contacts, I don't want another
contact to be able to contact me. I presume I can just block theother contact
in the usual way, but won't that contact be aware that they've been blocked?
I don't want to appear rude to the other contact if possible but I won't
wantto be interrupted either.

If you are in conversation with one contact and you don't want to be
interrupted by other contacts, change your online status to "Appear
Offline". You will be able to continue your conversation and you will
appear offline to all your other contacts even though you are actually
online.

So I set that once I'm in a conversation and do not wish to be disturbed.
