MSN Parental controls stopping users logging in ?

Hi,
Loaded the lastest beta on my home machine and works fine on my login. Tried
my daughters login which has MSN Premium parental controls set. Although MSN
Premium logs in, messanger doesn't. It tries but just comes back to the
login screen

If I change the level of her control to be general it is fine, but if I
change it back to pre-teen then it isn't.

Is there an issue with Live Mesanger and the MSN Premium with parental
control set ?

I haven't checked lately, but you might need to go to http://ideas.live.com and
click on the link to get Windows Live Messenger - then sign in with her ID. Her
ID should now work with WLM8.

Actually anyone can download it now and use it as of a week ago -- there's not even a sign up
button anymore.

The trouble here is that I have already downloaded and installed Live
Messenger on the system with my login. When I try to access it from her
login I get the problem. I have tried to go to ideas.live.com, and try to
login as beta user. But it says it is blocked due to the parental controls
and even so I allow permission for that site, still I get the problem when
trying to log into Live messenger.

It seems to me that MSN Parental control may not recognise Live as a valid
and proper Messanger as it needs to apply the control.

It sounds like you may have uncovered the cause, then. I'd suggest uninstalling
WLM8 and going back to 7.5 until MSN Parental Controls are updated. You can also
contact MSN Support for a more official response.
