I have the same issue. My firewall is fine but how did you fix your isp or dns issue?

Never mind ... think my ISP has DNS issues. More sites are suddenly not
available, like MSN.com and microsoft.com

MSN Messenger suddenly whining aout "key ports"?
MSN Messenger 7.5
Error 80072eff

I had a good connection and suddenly all is dead. With the "Solving
connection problems" part of Messenger, all the test are okay until it comes
to "Key ports" ... that test fails and it says that my proxy (which I don't
use) or my firewall (where I didn't change 1 thing) is the problem. Curious
on that because Messenger worked just fine before with all the same
settings?

Yep, it did :-)
But still somewhat strange to see that Messenger is blaming my proxy
settings or my firewall settings (iaw a setting on my system) while in fact
there was nothing wrong on my system. A bit like a ISP heldesk: they blame
you and your system first before looking for errors n their own side ;-)

Hi,

The Messenger errors are basically generic. There's that one and "temporarily unavailable".

Ugh, ISPs -- "have you run antispyware?", like that has anything to do with the fact that the
modem online light is off.
